The research group directed by Prof. María Vallet-Regí of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) presented their activities on nanotechnology and nanoscience at the 7th Researchers' Night in Madrid (30th September 2016, h 5-8 p.m.), a project of scientific dissemination funded by the European Commission in the H2020 program (Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions).
The proposed activities aimed at the diffusion of knowledge about the potentiality of the developed smart materials, including mesoporous nanoparticles, which are the core of the MOZART project. A video was realized showing a wide range of smart materials developed at UCM by the researchers of the GIBI (Grupo de investigación Biomateriales Inteligentes) directed by Prof. María Vallet-Regí. These include mesoporous particles for controlled release of drugs, bioceramics for bone regeneration and nanoparticles with anti-bacterial properties for the prevention of prosthetic joint infections.
A visit to the laboratory was also organized to show how the video images could become a reality!
